About Me

Hello, and welcome to The Homemaker’s Year!

I’m Tracy, a wife, mom of 14, and grandmother to 10 wonderful grandchildren. My husband, Paul, and I have been married for over 30 years, and together, we’ve raised a big, beautiful family. I didn’t grow up in a home with a full-time homemaker, but I was blessed to have a strong influence from the women in my life who embraced homemaking with love and purpose.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are from visits with my great-grandmother. She was a full-time homemaker, and I remember sitting at her table, eating homemade biscuits and jelly, sipping hot cocoa, and helping her in the garden. Her home was filled with a warmth and detail that spoke of love and care. I watched her serve not only her family but also our community and church, all from the overflow of her hard work.

I also spent time with my great aunt, who was another wonderful homemaker. Her home was always tidy, inviting, and warm, and I felt a deep sense of peace whenever I was there. And then there was Mrs. Jean Murray, my dear neighbor, who always had a hot breakfast ready and a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere in her home. These women—my great-grandmother, great aunt, and Mrs. Jean—shaped my view of homemaking and inspired me to dream of creating a home and family of my own.

Through the years, I have spoken to and observed many homemaking women. I’ve learned and watched their personal seasons of homemaking- recognizing that each month of the year- their projects, rhythms, and challenges seem to change. I’ve tried more schedules and routines than I could count. Nothing ever seemed to fit, even when I tried to adapt it for my family. Over time, I realized it is because seasoned homemakers have a gentle rhythm of changing as a year passes. They know when the window sills need to be cleaned. They take note of daffodil planting times and when the seasonal produce will be ready for processing.

I have created this site as a Titus 2 model for women seeking to learn from an older generation. I’ve created this site as if I had you along with me in my own home- working alongside to care for my husband and children, and to create a welcoming spot in this world for my family, friends and visitors.

I understand more deeply the beauty and purpose of homemaking. It’s not just about keeping a clean house; it’s about creating a space where love, faith, and family can grow. Through The Homemaker’s Year, I hope to pass along what I’ve learned and continue learning in this journey. Whether you’re preparing for your future home, refining your skills, or simply seeking encouragement, I’m so glad you’re here.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of homemaking, faith, and family. I pray that this space becomes a place where you are encouraged, inspired, and equipped to create a home filled with love and purpose.

With my love,

Tracy

Hi, I’m Tracy, the heart behind The Homemaker’s Year! I’m a 50-something wife, mom of 14, and grandmother to soon to be 12, married to my high school sweetheart, Paul, for over 30 years. I didn’t grow up in a home with a full-time homemaker, but I was deeply influenced by the women in my life—my great-grandmother, great aunt, and a dear neighbor—who showed me the beauty of a well-tended home. Their quiet acts of love, from homemade biscuits to warm, inviting spaces, shaped my desire to create a home filled with peace, purpose, and faith. Now, I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned. The Homemaker’s Year is here to guide and encourage women—whether you’re just starting out or have been managing a home for years—through the seasons of homemaking. Together, we’ll cultivate home, heart, and faith—one season at a time. I’d love for you to join me on this journey!
